Series opens with salute to military, Cards' past

The 107th World Series began with a salute to veterans and military families, "The Star-Spangled Banner" belted out by 2011 "American Idol" winner and baseball player Scotty McCreery, and a trio of first pitches from the three hurlers who closed out the Cardinals' last four World Series championships.
